NVAO Annual Report 2010 Summary

In the summary annual report "Support and Cooperation" NVAO report about the activities in 2010, and give also a picture of the higher education in the Netherlands and Flanders.

Beside the appraisal of 700 applications the year 2010 marked NVAO’s fifth anniversary, which was celebrated on 1 February at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. In addition to its regular assessment activities, NVAO launched and (partially) implemented various projects in 2010. The second half of 2010 was primarily dominated by the new accreditation system in the Netherlands.

For the Netherlands, the projects comprised the fourth pilot round of the Associate Degree programmes and the extensive information rounds regarding the new system. For Flanders, NVAO continued to work on the assessment of research-embedded programmes, the newly introduced professional higher education level, HBO5 and the drawing up of a regulation concerning "learning outcomes". In the Netherlands and Flanders, a pilot project was implemented focusing on the distinctive feature of internationalisation.
