Klaassen appointed as President Stenden University of applied sciences
By March 1st, 2011 NVAO Board Member Leendert Klaassen is appointed as President of the Executive Board of Stenden University of applied sciences.
Mr L.J. Klaassen LL.M (1950) was member of the Executive Board of NVAO since December 1st, 2005. Before that he was Secretary-General of the Senate of the Dutch Parliament and Mayor of the Groningen municipalities of Midwolda and Zuidhorn.
Mr Klaassen was closely involved in the establishment of the new Dutch accreditation system that was implemented on 1 January 2011. Since June 1st, 2008 he also was Secretary of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE). At that time NVAO took over the secretariat of this worldwide network of quality assurance organisations of the Irish HETAC.
NVAO thanks Leendert Klaassen for the large contribution which he has made to the Dutch accreditation system and the development of NVAO, both in the Netherlands and Flanders and at international level.
