Japanese publication on quality assurance in Dutch higher education
The National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation (NIAD-UE) in Japan has published an overview of quality assurance in Dutch higher education, says Nuffic. The overview was compiled with input from Nuffic and NVAO. On 17 June 2010 NVAO signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the NIAD-UE. The series title on the Netherlands will be made available on the NIAD-UE website shortly. Further titles on Germany, Austria and Sweden are to follow.
Issued in English, the publication is part of the series titled Overview Quality Assurance System in Higher Education, and is based on research conducted by staff from the Japanese organisation during an extensive study trip to the Netherlands.
The NIAD-UE is the body responsible for accrediting higher education programmes in Japan and for the conferral of Japanese degrees. In his foreword to the publication, NIAD-UE president Shin-ichi Hirano praises the quality assurance systems in Dutch higher education.
